Adult Education Opportunities
Sunday Mornings from 9:45-10:34AM
April 3: Yielding to Sorrow. The initial reaction to the news of death is often one of shock, disbelief, or even denial. What do we say to our loved ones and friends during these most vulnerable moments? How do we care for the wounded soul of a grieving survivor? There are no easy answers, but through trust placed in the Gospel, there is hope in sorrow. Led by Pastor Lew.
April 10: High Priestly Prayer. In his final prayer before going to the cross, Jesus prays, first for himself, then for his disciples, and finally, for later believers. As Holy Week begins, you are invited to take a closer look at this most amazing prayer and how Jesus’ words enable us to fulfill our callings in a troubled world. Led by Vicar James.
April 24: The Resurrection. The Bible calls the resurrection a “victory” over death that Jesus wins for us. The more we understand the magnitude of his victory, the more we begin to grasp the great hope and joy that belongs to us as people of the risen Lord. Join the discussion based on 1 Corinthians 15. Led by Pastor Lew.
** no classes on Easter Sunday (April 17)
May 1 – 29: Preach It! The book of Acts is full of amazing sermons from men like Peter, Stephen, and Paul. Some of these messages softened hearts, while others created conflict. Regardless of the outcome, those who delivered these words engaged the culture and preached Christ. Join us as we take a deeper look at some of the great sermons of Acts and discuss how they might apply to our lives today. Led by Pastor Lew & Vicar James on the Adult Education floor, room 300 (May 1 only) then in room 301 for the remainder of the class.
